Any connection between high triglycerides and psoriasis? I've dealt with psoriasis since high school; don't know how long my triglycerides have been high as I sort of avoided seeing a doctor other than for injuries for the past 20 years. 44 years old, 6'1", 220 pounds, no other health concerns.
Psoriasis is no longer considerated a skin disease but a systemic one. It has been recognized the association of psoriasis, especially the most severe forms, with several diseases that share a common pathogenic inflammatory substrate (TNF-α ).In patients with severe psoriasis there is an increased prevalence of obesity, dyslipemia ( high Cholesterol and high trglycerides), adult diabetes mellitus, fatty liver. Also Psoriatic patients may have abdominal obesity, hypertension, insulin resistance with or without glucose intolerance. You must visit a Doctor.
