Do Fibroids Affect Pregnancy?
i m 4 weeks + pregnant and had my my first ultrasound done today, which owed a fibroid measuring 44 mm in diameter in posterior myometrium at fundus. doctor said wait for the second ultrasound(due on 19 may 2012). should it a big worry for me? will it effect baby's growth in utreus during pregnancy? plz answer.

hi fibroid has an effect on pregnancy by increasing the risk for miscarriage preterm delivery iugr and placenta prévia . but doctor has asked you to wait for another scan as your gestational age is very less and he would have not been able to see the fetal heart rate so early in pregnancy so called u for repeat scan. but don't worry most of the patients with fibroid so have a favourable preganncy outcome. all the best take care.
