Do Ears Have Foul Smelling Discharge?

Does ears have a drainage that smells really bad and the gentlemen was told to go back to see his dr. and hasn t made an appointment yet. The doctor took some off his ear and told him it was a tumor that if it came back to come and see him. It has came back is their any way that if he has cancer in his ear will it go to his brain?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have foul discharge from your ear . Well there can be many reasons for foul discharge from ear like ear wax accumulation , severe infection , cholesteatoma a keratin mass in the middle ear and tumor like acoustic neuroma . Cancer of the ear can affect the outer, middle or inner ear, although temporal bone cancer may responsible in outer ear lesions. If left untreated then it may spread to brain because thin walls of ear . I would suggest you to visit your doctor as per your appointment and let the doctor confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may recommend surgical procedure or radiation therapy .
