Hello My name is Alora, About 6 months ago I went ot an OBGYN For the first time.. They told me I have PCOS. I m 20 years old an I was wondering if there was a way to figure out if I really have it an if I do would it cause any complications getting pregnant in the near future?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

In pcos hirsutism usually seen like facial hair growth

Second in this condition androgen level esp testosterone level is increased

So get investigated with serum testosterone, estrogen and progesterone level

Second USG abdomen should be done that will show multiple cyst in ovary

Insulin resistance checked by HOMA index and insulin to glucose ratio

These investigation can be done for pcos work up

Sometime in conception difficulty occurs in pcos patient

If ovulation not occurring than clomiphene like drug is available

You have to consult good gynecologist and discuss all these aspects

Take care

Hope this will help you
