Do Cataract Floaters Cause A Shadow Under The Eyes?
I am a former RK patient and I had a cataract removed from my left eye two days ago. I went back to the doctor the last two days and they found a small cataract floater and now I have a shadow on the left side of my eye which is annoying. They say I am probably seeing my incision and it should go away. Should I have the cataract floater removed and could it be what I am seeing? Is this something common and will it go away? Thank you.

It seems from the history that you had cataract surgery done and following it you are having a shadow under the eyes. Cataract or surgery for cataract is not responsible for shadow.
Shadow also called as floater is caused by opacities behind the lens in the vitreous cavity. Majority of them are benign and may indicate age related degeneration of the vitreous, hence no need to worry.
However if there is sudden increase in the floaters or flashes of light you need to get examination of retina.
