Hi, Over the past 6 months I ve been going in to get bloodwork done to check on my thyroid status. I have a family history of hypothyroidism and after receiving the results from the bloodwork, we discovered I had hyperthyroidism, maybe even Hashimoto s disease. My last blood sample was taken a few days ago and it all seems fine, with a near perfect balance of thyroid hormones. I stopped taking birth control pills about 2.5 months ago, right after my previous bloodwork had been looked at, and have felt immensely better since. Throughout the 4 month period when I was on birth control I had to experiment with 3 different pills since they all came with unwanted side effects like migraines, extreme nausea, and depression. I am wondering if the birth control pills could be to blame for all of the thyroid issues I ve been experiencing. Thank you for your time, -Sofie.
