Do Abdominal Adhesions Cause Constipation?

hello. when i was 3 months old i had a colostomy bag because they had to repair my colon\ rectum i believe. It was because i was born with a teratoma tumor that took 17 hours to take out. Now as I m 18, I frequently have pain on my lower left side abdominal area. My doctor just tells me its constipation because i do get constipated frequently, but what bothers me is that i always have this pain even when I am going to the bathroom regularly, I have minor scoliosis so when I try to Sit straight the pain starts or when I try to work out or do a physical activity it is always there. Sometimes the pain gets really bad that I had to rush to a bathroom. I have done some research online and I believe that I might have a abdominal adhesion. My question is, can abdominal adhesions cause constipation? Also what can be done so I don t have this pain anymore if it is due to abdominal adhesions? the pain is around my colostomy scar.

It is a possibility. If there is an adhesion it may put pressure on your intestines and hinder motion. There are some procedures that may be done as pinhole procedures to cut the adhesions, but they may recur soon after. I suggest you see a laparoscopic surgeon. He may ask for a few scans first.
