Dizziness, High Fever, High Pulse Rate With Shortness Of Breath Post Camping. Treatment Required?

My 15 yr old son has suddenly come down with a fever of 102.8. He is complaining of dizziness . He also has a pulse of 100 and is having a shortness of breath. We were camping this weekend and all was fine. We were home for a few hours and now he is not so well. Not sure if I should take him to ER or wait to call Dr in morning?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is good to take him to ER. Camping reminds me of Lyme disease with similar symptoms of fever and dizziness. If you were camping in the woods in US you should be aware of tick bites. However lot of germs in the wild life are unknown to mankind and we yet did not develop resistance.

For now give him a tablet of Tylenol and take to ER.
