Dislocated Shoulder, Impact On Leg, Purple Area, Painful Lnee. Will It Heal?

Hello. I suffered a horrific mountain bike crash that left me with a dislocated shoulder and a very hard impact to the side of my upper right leg. I noticed that the swelling hasn't gone down on the leg and there is a very large area that is purple looking. It looks like the impact site has shown signs of healing. (Red, white, other). More towards the back of the upper leg away from the impact site is still very dark purple. I have started experiencing more pain in my knee. Is all this normal? It's been almost 6 days since the crash.

Hello,
The purplish discoloration of your leg could be due to subcutaneous hematoma formation. This happens when there's bleeding just under the skin.
This generally requires no treatment and heals in over a week's time. There are ointments to mame it disappear faster and your doctor will be knowing more on that.
If pain is severe do not hesitate to visit youf dictor again.
Hope this helps.
