Discomfort In Upper Chest , Occassional Tingling In Left Arm, Cheek. Due To Pulled Muscle?

Hello, I went swimming (after long pause) last Wednesday and I probably strained muscles in my upper chest. After I came back from swimming, the muscles that attach arm to the torso hurt at certain movement. Next day it was good, there was no pain, maybe save for when I made a wrong move or turned sharply, in the middle of my chest. I sit at the computer a lot during the day and I know I'm not sitting like I should. These past few days I've had strange feeling on my upper center chest (not when I lie down), not quite pain, just discomfort, with occassional tingly places, including my left arm, cheek. Can it be from pulled muscles or is it something more serious?

I'm 27 yo female, have had my blood taken on Tuesday, results were all in norm. My cholesterol is 5.5. I'm prone to anxiety, though I haven't been treated. My family has a history of cardiovascular problems. I have an appointment on Wednesday with my GP but I'd like to know whether I should worry or whether it can be simply a factor of pulled muscles.

Thank you for your time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

Keeping in mind the fact that investigations report are normal, your symptoms can be attributed to strain in muscles.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of:
1. Analgesics like Paracetamol (to be taken after meals) & application of analgesic+muscle relaxant gel.
2. Pantoperazole + Domperidone (to be taken 30 min before meals)
3. Multivitamin & multimineral supplements including iron, calcium & Vit D needs to be added in your diet.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult your General Physician & get a proper clinical examination done.
Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, avoid stress, exercise regularly & practice meditation.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
