Difficulty In Swallowing Due To Throat Tightness, Nasal Discharge. Need Cure

I have had a really tight throat - only on the right side and have trouble swallowing , especially at night and when lying flat. Sometimes during the day the symptoms are there, also. At times I when I sniff, (like to clear my sinuses) I can actually feel drainage flowing down to my throat. I have no trouble breathing or eating - just can t seem to get rid of the tightness. I find it odd that this tightness is only on the right side, not the middle or the left side.

Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I have gone through your query regarding tightness in throat ,difficulty in swallowing. You have also complain of post nasal discharge which indicates about sinusitis.

Considering your all symptoms and co-relating with disease process it appears to be as you are suffering from sinusitis and recurrent tonsillopharyngitis.

For your proper treatment it is necessary to do these basic investigations.-

(a) C.T.scan of paranasal sinuses.

(b) Culture and Sensitivity of phlegm.

(c) X-Ray chest - P.A.View.

(d) Blood - CBC, ESR, blood sugar (F. & P.P.)

(e) Urine- Routine & Microscopic.

After this much thorough examination and clinical co-relation with inferences of investigations one may reach to a corrcet diagnosis and that can be managed accordingly.

Regards.
