Difficulty In Feeding Milk For 6 Months Kid

Hello sir, My kid male child 6 months old nowadays almost from 20 days not drinking his mother's milk . With very difficulty holding him if we make him to hold nipples in very short time 20-30 secs he will turn his head and cries. Pls suggest .

Hi.. It is time that you need to start wean off the breast feeds and slowly switch off to the oral feeds.. Consult your doctor to know the best food that can be given based on the region of your locality.. You may have to start of top milk too.. If he has refusal of oral feeds too, you can try grape water...

It is very important to identify the cause for him not to feed breast feed. Is he on any other milk supplementation other than breast milk? Also I would like to know whether he has any symptoms like runny nose, mild fever, cough , loose motion. If there is any underlying mild infections, that can also cause babies to refuse feeds. Morever I am concerned about his hydration now, if he hasnt had proper feeding for nearly 20 days. Please do consult your Paediatrician locally.
