Saswati, to concieve your menstural cycles should be regular & also they should be ovulatory & not anovulatory. Usually ovulatory cycles are painful in nature. Hormonal imbalance can result in anovulatory cycles. The drug Clomiphene citrate will help you if your cycles are anovulatory. It induces ovulation. In some women pregancy does not occur in spite of ovulation because of a short luteal phase. For implantation of the fertilised ovum, adequate luteal phase is necessary & clomiphene rectifies this by increasing the level of progesterone. Take Tab. clomiphene 50mg from 3rd to 5th day of menstural cycle for 5 days continuosly. Simultaneous use of HCG on last two days will increase the success rate. The dose can be doubled to 100mg for the next month. It is also important to rule out conditions like oligozoospermia(reduced sperm count) for your husband before you proceed.
