Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,
Children are known to have high accommodation, hence the refractive power may vary depending on the amount of usage of accommodation.
Hence to have accurate eye power in children the refraction testing has to be done after abolishing the accommodation by using cycloplegic drugs like atropine, homatropine and cyclopentolate.
Depending on age of the children, the preferred procedure for refraction is
below 7 years atropine
7-12 years homatropine
12-18 years cyclopentolate
So kindly see which doctor followed what method before coming to conclusion of which prescription to follow
Thank you
