PCOD or ovarian cyst
is the major cause of delayed period or oligomenorrhea
. Other associated factors are stress/ anxiety/ psychological factor, over weight/ extreme loss, irregular diet habit etc.
Cycle Day 2/3/4 is usually preferred for several hormone testing to check ovarian reserve
. These include FSH, LH, estradiol
level. LH/ FSH more than 3:1 is indicative of PCOD and high CD3 FSH or estradiol is indicative of diminished ovarian reserve which can hamper ovulation.
So, be prepared for the tests on particular day for complete evaluation. Avoid stress, take healthy diet with prescribed medication, control body wt and need proper sleep.
