Diagnosed With Ulcerative Proctitis, Taking Omnacortil, Mesacol. Any Side Effects?
Dear Doctor, I am diagnosed with Ulecerative Proctitis . I am on Omnacortil -10 mg for 40 days (4 tabs a day for 5 days, then reducing by 1/2 tab every 5 days till 0 tab)...along with Mesacol-500 suppositories twice a day. Need your advice on any side effects or otherwise. This combination has been very effective in week 1. Thanks

The combination of omnacortyl ( Anti inflammatory)& mesacol ( preventing irritation & inflammation of bowels) is good for your problems.
Side effects of Omnacortyl are-Nausea, vomiting, hyper acidity,weight gain ,lac of sleep,late wound healing,less resistance.
Side effects of Mesacol - Apart from gastric upsets,diarrhea,fever,rashes,weakness. prolonged use may have effects on respiration,kidney function,heart .
So ,while under treatment. please be in touch with your doctor & get regular assessment.
