Diagnosed With Tendonitis. Getting Severe Pain. Is There Any Effective Cure?

Hi, I m a 21 year old female. I ve recently been diagnosed with tendonitis in my left hand . it was really painful. I had to take a painkiller called ugesic for about 2 weeks and wear a crepe bandage . It got better. But literally anything like picking up something with that hand can make it hurt. And i mostly cannot do any work with that hand for fear it might come back again. Just yesterday i hit my hand against something and the pain is back. Are there any cures? I m tired of taking painkillers. Does this ever go away? And what exactly are the causes?

Hello Rachel,

Thanks for posting,

Treatment of tendon injuries is largely conservative. Use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), rest, and gradual return to exercise is a common therapy. Resting assists in the prevention of further damage to the tendon. Ice, compression and elevation are also frequently recommended. Physical therapy, orthotics or braces may also be useful. Initial recovery is typically within 2 to 3 days and full recovery is within 4 to 6 weeks.
Consulting an orthopedic surgeon will be highly recommended. Varied treatments for tendinitis exist and it will depend mostly on the specialist available at your region and the available of materials for treatment.

hope this will be useful
God Bless
