Diagnosed With Suspected Endometriosis. Increases When Being Anxious. Will Anxiety Increase The Pain?

It has been recently posited by my gynaecologist that I have suspected endometriosis.
I have been reading a lot about this condition and I am panicking about the quality of life I will have to get used to due to the constant pain I am in.
Sometimes I go through months where I am not in pain as much- which seems to correlate with not being as anxious. I find anxiety makes my pain worse. Is this possible that anxiety can make the pain worse?

Hi,
The answer to your question is yes.Anxiety definitely increases pain symptoms. In fact they could be the cause of pain symptoms. You could try lifestyle measures to help you to relax ;yoga or meditation for instance. If you are comfortable with medications antidepressants would help. Dont worry too much about your illness.besides it is only suspected and not confirmed.hope you get relief soon.
