I was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer, stage IIC. A PET scan last week indicated "several small hypoattenuating nodules in the right lobe of the thyroid gland, non-FDG avid." "Calcified small mediastinal nodes" were noted in the chest, as well as "a 4 mm right middle lobe nodule and a 3 mm left lower lung lobe nodule." Also noted on this scan was a "1.1 cm non-hypermetabolic hypoattentuating lesion in the left lobe of the liver, not FDG avid."
What does it all mean? (I did start chemo for the ovarian cancer today.)
Thank you,
Jane
