Diagnosed With Lichen Slerosus. Suggested Steroid Cream. Should I Meet A Gynecologist?

I need to register with another doctor in clacton on sea. I have recently been diagnosed with lichen slerosus by my gp, I was told to use steroid cream twice a day and see how it goes and look it up on the internet.
After looking into it, I now know I should be referred to a gynaecologist, I am really struggling with this problem and I woukd like some advice.

Hi and thanks for the query,

It might be necessary to see a gynecologist. However, a concerted collaboration between a dermatologist and the gynecologist is actually needed, Compliance to treatment protocols is very important for treatment at times might be long term and some rare patients could present with some side effects.

Thanks and kind regards,

Bain LE, MD.
