Diagnosed With High Thyroxine Levels. His Hands Tremor, His Eyes Are Red Or Inflamed. Insomnia, Night Sweating. Treatment?

my husband has been to numerous endocrinologist, M.D. , psychiatrist and neurologist. He is consistently diagnosed over a period of years of having high thyroxine levels. His hands tremor, his eyes are red or inflamed and he is agitated easily, complaining of insomnia and night sweating. Yet, they have no recommended treatment. He has consistently ran a .52 tsh for at least five years. The last endricrinologists even ruled out a pituitary tumor. Please advise or refer. Thank You

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi! Thank you for your question. Based on your description - he does seem to be exhibiting signs and symptoms of Grave's Disease, an autoimmune disease that targets the thyroid gland. If that is the case, there are definitive treatment and management plans, which can include both medical and surgical options, that can help your husband. Please see either an Internal Medicine physician or an Endocrinologist as soon as possible so the diagnosis can be made and anti-thyroxine medications initiated. I hope he feels better soon! Take care!
