Diagnosed With Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Is There Any Correlation Between Marijuana And EoE?

Hey there. I was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis today (we still have to do a scope to be 100% sure, but based on my symptoms, my GI doctor seemed quite confident that I have it). Is there any correlation between marijuana and EoE? Would marijuana aggravate the symptoms, or make them better? I seem to not have a very severe case as they only symptoms I have are dysphagia (although I can eat foods just fine if I chew well) and occasional chest pain, pangs, heartburn, etc.

Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to Health care magic forum.
Marijuana will definitely have effect on the oesophagitis, due to its physical, and chemical effects, The symptoms are also not minimal, so to stop it is the recomended thing.
Your doctor also may recommend the same thing.
Avoid spices, junk foods, and oily foods to avoid the irritation to the oesophagus and the stomach.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
and protein rich foods to enhance the recovery.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
