Diagnosed With Chronic Pain Syndrome, Have Back Pain Due To Thinning Of Discs. Had Epidural Injection Without Help

i have been diagnoised with several pains, including severe back pain, due to the increasing thinning of my discs, and have been diagnoised with chronic pain sysndrome. i just had a epidural spinal injection about 3 wks ago, and still having severe pain. i have been through physical therapy on many occasions with no help other than making my pain worse.. i have had a total knee replacement done 3 yrs ago and still have pain in that area. i feel as though i have pain in my bones. i have been on several different pain meds with no avail. i was prescribed 10/325 & found that i had pancreatis so cannot take any ansaids, the dr. put me on straight oxycodone 10 mg 4 x daily. i still have pain, so now i am going back to my neurologist & was suggested by another dr to ask for oxycontin. i have read that it is time released but it has not helped at all. should he prescribe 20. 40 60 or whatever since the pain is constant. he is willing to help me in anyway he can, but i would like your opinion. got multiple health issues besides the chronic pain.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.

Yes you can increase the dose as no relief with 10.
Or he can start some combination medication.

You need to start some holistic approach for your multiple problems.
You can do yoga ,pranayama and meditation.

Till time take analgesic and apply knee support.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
