my husband has been diagnosised with cellulitis in his right leg. This will be his second time getting it. Even though we have been to see our primary dr he has development a red spot about the size of baseball on his leg. It is raised above the skin and hot to the touch. He has finished his antibodics (doxycycl 100mg) and is now on diclofenac . It seems we are going back to the dr every other week.

I am so sorry to hear about this. The predisposing factors for this recurrent cellulitis need to be identified and addressed. For instance, if the circulation, blood sugar levels(diabetes) are a problem, they should be addressed. If this is not done, then you would get many recurrences and for sure this is not going to be fun. Talk to your doctor so that together you both can get if addressed fully.
I hope this helps and I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask more questions if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD
