Hi Sandie Page, Thanks for using HCM.

For diagnosing DM we want minimum FBS and PPBS. Since you are in borderline diabetes, get done FBS, PPBS and HbA1c. These will tell us for proper diagnosis. Since diabetes affects organs like kidney and eyes, initially if diagnosed as diabetes then we have to check others to prevent if any other problem. Next time put your lab values also so that we can discuss clearly.
Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries and consult your doctor for further management.

Hope I answered your question.
Wish you good health. Take care.

hello sandie,
i presume that your main concern is family history of diabetes and hence risk of diabetes in you. there is obiviously high risk, however you can reduce the risk or postpone the occurance of diabetes in you by some basic things like

1. diet control with high proportion of fruits and vegetables in your diet
2. regular physical activity in you in terms of brisk walk/sports/dance at least 30 minutes in 5 days a week
3. meditation or any stress activities like yoga

you may be slim, but what about your tummy, if your waist circumference is within 90 cm, then its fine.

as long as your blood glucose is not in diabetic range, you need not bother much about change in spectacle number.

wish you good health, take care

DEAR SIR/MADAM

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES AND STILL HAVING SCORES OF BORDERLINE DIABETES.

THE CHECK YOUR LIPID PROFILE, FASTING AND POST PRANDIAL BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS. EYE CHANGES WILL NOT COME SO QUICKLY SO YOU DONT WORRY ABOUT IT.

MONITOR YOUR WEIGHT, CHECK FOR ANY RECENT HISTORY OF WEIGHT LOSS OR WEIGHT GAIN.

THANKS
