Diagnosed With Alpha Streptococcus. How Dangerous Situation Is This? Anything To Worry?

My son has been diagnosed as having alpha streptococcus. He had a procedure several days ago with reported "fluid sacs around the pancreas". Then I learned they put him into isolation with the strep diagnosis. I'm trying to find out about alpha streptococcus and how serious it is...in layman's terms. Can you give me a straight answer, please?

Hi thanks for using HCM
Alpha streptococcus is a bacteria causing infection, not to worry, it won't cause much effect.
Beta streptococcus is the which needs to treated properly with antibiotic and regular monitoring to be done.
may be to prevent infection to others they would have kept in isolation.
Hope I have answered your query. wish him a good health.

Regards
Dr . Vidya
