I was diagnosed with Oesteoarthritus in right Shoulder 4 years ago, ,had vaRIOUS mri SCANS & WAS DIAGNOSED WITH sPONDYLITUS OF THE sPINE WHICH CAUSES GRIEVIOUS PAIN IN THE WHOLE BODY, ARMS LEGS BACK, NECK, ETC, i VE BEEN TESTED FOR CARPEL TUNNEL SYNDROME , IT CAME BACK NEGATIVE, i;VE BEEN TOLD BY SURGEON WHEN i WAS 43, NOW 46 , i HAVE THE BONES OF A 56 YR OLD,especially in the neck, I suffer endless sleepless nights.i VE EXPLORED AND HAD PHYSIO, I awake in the night with pillow and position discomfort,& Pain, numbness & tingling in the aRMS,SOMETIMES LEGS, MY HUSBAND HAS TO SLAP MY ARMS TO RELIEVE THE NUMBNESS, I cannot sleep comfortable on either side or my back. IT HAPPENS 5-8 TIMES IN THE NIGHT, i HAVE NO MOTIVATION, TRIED EXERCISE, WALKING, SWIMMING ETC. ALL CAUSING FURTHER PAIN, AM UNABLE TO GET OUT OF BED WITHOUT MEDICATION, the pain I have twists & grinds, it.s unbearable, but feel totally pain free within an hour after medication, I don t feel drowsy from medication though was at first, but though I can staND AND MOVE AROUND AM UNABLE TO MOTIVATE MYSELF TO DO HOUSEWORK, ETC, i DROP THINGS WITHOUT FEELING THEM LEAVE MY HANDS OR GRIP, also have been diagnosed with Raynaurds disease, & suffer aching painful bones, discoloured hands, etc, from the cold & damp My surgeon has discharged me back to my GP over a year ago, after convincing me that she was the best surgeon, loved to operate and she could go through my neck, front or back & only relieve the numbness & tingling. she then told me after further MRI scans that it was an absolute risk to relieve me from the trouble of numbing & tingling,& she had absolutely, without doubt, thought that it was too risky there was a possibility of paralasys, should she operate, it was too dangerous,after I d read someone had received this surgery, I was prepared to undergo, and had only been out of sorts on her back for 9 months, then was fine with a stick. I was absolutely beside myself that i was returned to GP for the remainder of pain management , FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, i STRUGGLE TO OPEN A TIN, A PACKET OF CRISPS & CEREALS. ETC. Have a whole rake of medication, I ll list Here goes: Buspirone Hydrochloride 5mg x 1 in morn, & x 1 at night (for chest pain via ANXIETY, for last 8 years) If I forget to take causes chest pain after null of approx 4 days, take, and pain is gone within a day, Amitryptylene 2 x 20 mg morn & Night and further 1 x 25mg at night Gabapentin 300mg x 4 in morn, & x 5 at night Metrocloripramide 10mg x 1 in morn & x 1 at night Ketroprofen Gel 100gms X 3 per month oxycontin 5mg 1 x morn, 1 x night oxycodone 10mg 2 x morn. , 2 x night oxycodone 40mg 1 x morn, 1 x night Paracetomol 500mg 3 x morn, 3 x night. This is what I;ve gradually built up to from the usual, lone Paracetomol, Co-Codomol, Tramadol, etc, I ve been on the opiate based painkillers for 4 years now obviously upgraded with pain severity. I have immense Physical support from my spouse,although rather tends to emotionally upset me regularly, with regard to supporting my step daughter other than me, and various affairs spanning 25 years, I feel I m used to that. I ve given both to 2 boys aged 27 & 28 but suffered abominal, infected tubes, infections re abcess on ovaries at 15,fallopian tubes been washed out then blocked again before ectopic Pregnancy (10 years ago). as well as several water infections, in a hygenic person being myself, since aged 16, before and after giving birth, had 1 quarter of tube removed 10 years ago. my period finished ready for menopause in January 2012, I m happy about that but know to expect life changes, including abnormal periods where are religiously normal. I m a kind loving , family person, who got married at 27 to someone i knew well all my life, whom dissapointed me over the years with his infidelity. I stayed and will do so til death. I am mentally stable despite all that and have fostered my own grandchildren, after a cot death,for nine years of whom I am Now Legal Special Guardian alongside my Husband. MY QUESTION IS : DESPITE MY TROUBLES i AM STILL HERE, QUITE UNMOTIVATED BUT TOTALLY ALERT,DURING WAKING HOURS, i CONSIDER THE OPIATE BASED MEDICATION i HAVE TO TAKE, AN ABSOLUTE MIRACLE DRUG & A gODSEND: ITS MY BONES THAT ARE WEAK, i CANT GET LIFE INSURANCE TO ENABLE ME TO SUPPORT MY KIDS N GRANDKIDS, & BURY ME WHEN i M GONE, I just wondered? AND I M A SMOKER OF MENTHOL CIGARETTES FOR 23 YEARS, wILL I LIVE ANOTHER 20 YEARS, I M DETERMINED MENTALLY BUT UNDERSTAND i HAVE A PROGRESSIVE, DEGENERATIVE CONDITION. WILL I LIVE ANOTHER 15=20 YEARS/ I WANT TO SEE MY GRANDCHILDREN GROW AND ENHANCE IN LIFE? HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST ME FOR AN ANSWER.
