Diabetic, Diagnosed With Fibromyaligia, Ear, Sinus Infection, Severe Bronchitis. On Heavy Antibiotics. Time Taken To Get Cured?

My mother is 62. She has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and she has diabetes. She went to see a doc 2 weeks ago tomorrow because of a bad cold. She was diagnosed with an ear and sinus infection. Four days later I took her to the emergency room due to the severity of her cough and being light headed. They did a couple of breathing treatments, her x-rays showed no pneumonia, but she was diagnosed with severe bronchitis. The put her on a stronger antibiotic, pain meds, Zofran for nausea, an inhaler, and prednisone. She is no better, and in my opinion she is worse. How long do I wait for the meds to have an affect?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, it appears that she has viral fever, probably chikan gunya, or eosinophilia.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. She may need to have symptomatic relief first as the viral fevers are self limiting.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe cifixime, deriphylline, diethyl carbamizine citrate, and cough preparation containing anti histamine. Thank you.
