Diabetic, SGOT and SGPT high. Losing weight. Reason for weight loss?
My father s age is 65 and is diagnosed today SGOT : 72U/L and SGPT : 55 U/L. He is a diabetic and FBS was 126 mgs/dl and PPBL was 173 mgs/dl today morning. Rest all test results are normal. He has lost a significant amount of weight is last 6 months though he do not feel weakness and is very active. What could be the reason for the weight loss ?
Diabetes can be the reason in this case. his sugar levels are slightly higher than normal. get a HbA1c done. let him take protein rich diet for his liver. if he is a alcoholic or a smoker ask him to quit.
