Diabetic. Had Quad Bypass Heart Surgery. Have Sores In Legs. Suffering From Chest And Belly Pain. What To Do?

My brother had quad bypass heart surgery almost 15 years ago. He is about 69 years of age now. He is insulin dependent diabetic and recently has had large sores on his legs. The past week he has had chest and belly pain, increasing as the time goes by. Yesterday he was admitted to the hospital and it took quite a lot of morphine to stop the pain. A stress test at noon shows a black spot on the heart. They are thinking now of doing a heart cath. I don't understand the spot on the heart.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Type 1 diabetes or type 2 both are very notorious to produce heart pain due to occlusion of heart arteries.
15 years patient was operated for heart problems.
So stress test has shown a black spot, that may be due to occlusion of arteries ( artery) of affected part.
As far as concerned about sore legs , these are either myelopathy or may be due to occlusion of blood supply to legs.
So please note one thing in mind that blood sugar level , be maintained at any cost.
So heart cath will reveal each and every thing.
Hope I have answered your query.
Good luck for your brother.
If further any question I will be happy to help.
