Developed As Red Lesions In Pubic Area, Has Spread Across Till Penis. Have Intense Itching, Oozing. Treatment?

Hi, I am an RN and 3 weeks ago, my boyfriend, whom i live with developed a couple of red lesions in upper pubic area which have intense itching-he scratches them and they ooze, they keep spreading. I haven't seen something like this before. His mother's doctor told him it is chiggers, but I don't believe it is after this long and the fact they are spreading. it seems once he scratches them open, he spreads them. it started with just 2 red lesions which u can see white heads in middle of them and they were in upper pubic area and now he has them in his inner groin folds, upper thighs and has 2 lesions on upper shaft of penis where he holds it to urinate. in the past two days, he now has multiple red lesions which itch intensely to inner buttocks area. We have tried everything and no relief and now I am concerned. He does have an appointment with his doctor Monday, but I have been researching this nonstop trying to find anything it may be or ways to alleve this for him. I have had a red, blotchy rash to my back, along my sides and to my left upper chest and the spots have appeared to my left inner elbow and slightly above it. I have shown my doctor this and he doesn't say anything. It doesn't itch, it's just there. I have had it since December and all I know is that at times, the areas and the circles by my elbow will just turn bright red for awhile and then they fade again. I'm sorry to give you two things right now, but we are both concerned. I am in process of switching doctors which is why I am asking. I don't want to go back to a doctor who does not address what is going on with me, especially when it's not normal. I have multiple problems and have a complicated case, but I feel that should not be a reason to not address what is going on with me or trying to figure out what it is. Thank you for your time and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

welcome to health care magic. Thanks for writing here.

It seems your boy freind has either scabies or pubc lice infestation. Both these lesions are itchy .

You can easily diagnose lice by careful examination of pubic area.

Scabies is more itchy at night with lesions present over thighs, shaft of penis. They never involve face and palms and soles.

Treatment for both these is permithrin lotion. You need to apply from neck downwards to entire body.Single application is sufficient.

The rash you are suffering is a chronic one and you need to consult a dermatologist and take treatment accordingly.

I hope this can solve your query.Take care.
