OBGYN 's  Response
Hello there,

The initial work up of the child involves a complete blood count with special attention on platelet count.

Malaise with body ache along with thromobocytopenia could herald Dengue as there is already an outbreak in your community.

Please keep an eye on the warning signs like abdominal pain or enlargement or vomiting or any mucosal bleeds. This would require instant hospitalization along with proper hydration.

Please donot wait for warning signs to develop. Keep the fever under control with crocin as adviced.

Wishing your child a speedy recovery.

Allergist and Immunologist Dr. Suman Kumar's  Response
you get only platelets checked
the pltelets should be minimum 4.5 lac
in viral it decreases you can check from counts of your position
hydrotherapy is the medicine only and rest
you take fliids every 15 minutes in form of juices glucose sups and other liquids
i am in favour of meftal instead of crocin
