Delayed Period. Negative Home Pregnancy Test. Abdominal Heaviness, Bloating. Reason?
My periods has been delayed by more than 50 days . I took a home pregnancy test after 50 days and it turned negative. I still seem to be having symptoms such as heaviness in the abdomen or lower stomach (not sure), slightly bloated tummy. What could be the reason for these symptoms? I have not taken a blood pregnancy test yet. I had severe continuous headache since 22nd day of my cycle , it started with pain scale of 8 but now it has gradually reduced and come down to pain scale 1. I was taking Vitex 400 mg everyday but I stopped it 10 days before suspecting that could cause delayed periods and headaches..Please help.
Your presentation does resemble the presentation of pregnancy, and if this is the first time you are experiencing menstrual irregularities, then pregnancy will have to be adequately ruled out. Please repeat a home pregnancy test but this time using an early morning urine sample (i.e. the first urine passed in the morning). If this also reports a negative result then you may have to consider a blood pregnancy test.
Once pregnancy is completely ruled out, other causes to be consider would be: -Sudden weight gain or loss -Stress -Medication -Infections -Pelvic inflammatory disease Among other causes.
Please visit your doctor at the earliest. Hope this helps.
Take care.
