Delayed Period. Had Unprotected Sex Last Month And Had Periods Also. Reason For Delay?

hi, i am 43 years old, we had unprotected sex with my bf, last march 8 and 9,, march 13 i have my period, we have no sex after that until now, but unfortunately until now my period not yet appear,, i did home pregnancy test, but negative, but why until now i have nothing yet,,, do i am pregnant? please help me, thank you..

Hi,
Since you had a normal period last cycle and did not have any intercourse during this cycle, the chances of pregnancy are almost nil. As you are entering the perimenopausal stage, it could be that the cycles get erratic. Yet, you may get a serum beta-hCG assay to be conclusive about the presence or absence of pregnancy. You should also get a complete evaluation by a gynecologist as is necessary at this age along with a trans-vaginal sonogram. Hope your query is answered. Good luck.
