Dark Spots And Raised Hard Bump On The Anus. Hemorrhoids?

Hello,
I am a young gay men that engages in anal sex. I have recently checked my anus through a mirror and noticed that about an inch or two inside my anus I have a few dark spots. I also felt and saw a small, tough bump (like a pimple) as well. The bump is definitely raised but not discolored and doesn't hurt.

What are these dark spots? Whether or not they're harmless how do I get rid of them? And as for the bump, is it a hemorrhoid? Can I get rid of it?

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. And from your description, it could in fact be hemorrhoids, but without a physical examination, it is difficult to accurately diagnose.

If it is indeed a hemorrhoid problem, then yes, they are harmless, but in the long run can result in symptoms like bleeding stools, constipation, pain, itching around genitals, etc. So you should visit a doctor, who will help in treating them. Yes, you can easily get rid of them, but only with a doctor's help and advise.

They are not self-resolving, and only get worse with time. So I request you to please visit a doctor.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
