Dark, Hard Spot Underneath Skin On Foot, Dryness And Itching In Left Ankle. History Of Cellulitis Infection Cured With Antibiotics. Suggest
I have a dark, hard spot, which is underneath my outer skin, on my left foot. It turned dark and hard after I had a cellulitis infection in my left leg and received antibiotic treatments. It's hard to the touch, on the left side of my ankle and is dry and itches. The doctors at the ER didn't know what it was. Any suggestion would help me. Thank you.
From the information you have provided, this most likely represents chronic irritation of the point by probably your footwear. Also, it could be a sequella of the cellulitis that you hadPlease, try and get it checked out.
Trying out some local moisturising steroids based ointments would be of great hep reducing the pains and itches. Also, get an appropriate foot wear to prevent this in future.
If these measures don't prove helpful, then talking with your talking for the possibility of a skin biopsy to rule out more concerning skin lesions would be of great importance.
I hope this helps and provides guidance on how to address this problem. Thanks for using our services and hope you come back again. I wish you well. Dr. Ditah, MD
