DNC Surgery Done. Had Intercourse And Started Bleeding. Is There Any Complication?
I am a 15 year old girl and i just got a DNC surgery on tuesday 3/13/12.. an abortion , and i was with my boyfriend yesterday and i was told by the doctors not to have sex for 6 weeks and i let him stick his private into mine once and that was it. Now i am bleeding a lot and this happened this morning. Is that okay? I am NOT doing it again but im really scared!
The reason why your doctor asked you to desist from intercourse is that after a cleaning procedure of such a kind, the tissues and linings inside are raw and they need time to heal just as if you had an external wound. I am glad you have learned your lesson, but if the bleeding is more than what you normally see during a menses, or if it does not stop within a half-hour or so, you should visit the gyne doctor again and ask him to have a look at you. If there is a tear of the inside lining or something, he might want to either give you a prescription or place some pressure tampon or even treat it surgically by stitching it under local anesthesia.
