Cramps, Had Period. Am I Pregnant?

hi my name is karen and i have been getting these cramps that wont go away, my period finished 12 days ago and i forgot to get my pill script into the chemist i have just gotten back onto them today, just wondering what it could be, could i be pregnant? as i have had 2 children already and these symtoms are very different from what i have been use to when pregnant.

Hi Ms.Karen,
If you have regular 28-30 day cycles then you are just around the ovulation period. You cannot expect a protection in this cycle with your pills unless you had used some other form of contraception, as you started them late. Yet, it could be a simple ovulation pain. You may take some antispasmodic for relief. If you continue to feel the pain, contact your doctor. Nothing can be said about your pregnancy right now until the onset of your next period, or to make it earlier, you can have a serum test for beta-hCG levels one week prior to the expected date of your next cycle.
