Could Watery Eyes Be Due To Blockage Of Tear Ducts?

Greetings,
Iam Majeme Bernard and Iam in College,18 years of age .I have this eye problem characterized by over tearing with no specific environmental factors or illness like wind and light intensity..even they tear in darkness.I have no pain while the eyes are tearing and most disturbing of all they don't itch and neither redden..just white and normal...My dad also had this problem..Doctors say there is no problem...I have no eye related defects..just tearing.(Been given treatment for conjuctivitis).Personal doctor says that it maybe blockage of the tear ducts or over production of tears...been with the problem for 5 years.....most tearing experienced in the mornings

Blockage is much more common than over production of tear ( rare especially with white eye ).

Blockage could be in duct or nostril. Since you mentioned its since 5 yrs and not associated with allergy, could not be nostril causes.

Blockage in duct looks like possibility, there are simple clinical test to check and locate for blockage. Visit ophthalmologist for evaluation and management accordingly.
