Could Very High BP Be A Matter Of Concern?

I m on 500mg methyldopa 2x/day. I m almost 7 months post partum, and it hasn t been controlling my BP as well lately (avg 140/88). My Dr has me coming in for checks plus checking at home daily. My BP just registered 174/100. The highest it s been, even while pregnant and had pre-eclampsia. Is this jump cause for concern to go into emergency room/call after hours Dr, or should I not worry too much?

thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com....

first of all, did you take your anti hypertensive medicines regularly?
if you did not miss any dose lately or even the last dose, and still the bp is registered 174-100 and you are having symptoms like nervousness, palpitations, sweating etc you should go to the emergency or atleast first call your doctor for a visit....sometimes, there is no symptoms....so it is better to take medical assistance asap....

hope this was helpful....
regards
