Could Uterine Fibroids Cause Severe Pain In Lower Back?
hi, i m 31 years old, two years ago while i was pregnant i was diagnosed with having two intramural uterine fibroids in the anterior wall . i was successful in having my baby but lately i have been having lower back pains when by periods are near due. my questions are, i want to know if the pains i m feeling are because of the fibroids and also is it possible that these fibroids could have grown bigger or smaller since then. thanks.
Fibroids are to be regularly evaluated for change in size and appearance. If you had two fibroids during your pregnancy two years back then you should get another ultrasound scan done now. Fibroids grow or regress with hormone levels and without a scan it is difficult to say if your fibroids have grown. Pain in the lower back can be caused by fibroids. Small intramural fibroids can cause the uterine wall to stretch as the periods approach and this non rhythmic stretching can cause spasms leading to back pain. It is suggested that you get a pelvis ultrasound done and then consult your gynecologist.
