Could Unprotected Sex Cause STI's?

Is it possible that bacteria naturally found in the colon could cause an infection after unprotected anal sex? I was tested before I had sex with my boyfriend and I did not have any STIs, he was tested before me and he too was clean, but now he is showing symptoms that are typical of the bacterial STIs, and we don't know what has happened.

Hi
welcome to HCM
In my opinion there are chances of STI of you don't practice good hygiene
colon and anal canal contains E Coli bacteria as a normal Flora of the body
during penetrative anal intercourse it may spread to genitals and produces STI symptoms.

you need not to worry please visit your doctor for detailed examination and a battery of tests to confirm the diagnosis
have plenty of fluids
maintain good hygiene
avoid anal and vaginal sex simultaneously

Hope I have answered your question
thanks for using HCM
WISH you both a very good health
