Could Tiredness Be Related To Hypothyroidism?

Hi,
I'm a 68 year old male and taking 175mg of eurotroxsig in the mornings for a hypo-thyroid. Usually taken about 6 am 1/4 to 1/2 hour before eating. Somewhere about 3pm I'm feeling tired and listless but with a 10 -15 mins nap I'm feeling much better and usually complete the day through to about 11pm. Could this tiredness be linked to the hypothyroidism or could there be other things to be researched?

Thank you

Kind regards
Allen

Hi Allen,

Thank you for asking your query on HealthcareMagic.

Tiredness is a very common symptom of hypothyroidism and so should be taken into consideration. However, there are other multiple causes of tiredness like increased age, diabetes, anemia, overweight, sleeping disorder, etc.
Have you got your recent free T3/T4 and TSH values checked? If they are within a normal range, we can rule out adjusting your thyroxine dosage. Also, I would suggest you get a routine blood examination (including Complete blood count and Random blood sugar) and a visit to a general practitioner to rule out other causes of tiredness.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have other questions.

Best
