Could Thyroid Storm Cause Pancreatitis?

I recently came down with hyperthyroidism. I was in the hospital for a thyroid storm but I also got pancreatitis. I had symptoms for 5 weeks before i was hopsitalized. could this have caused the pancrreatitis? Also, can too much Vitamin D cause any problems as noted as above?

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

Many times Hyperthyroidism is caused by Auto-immune diseases where the body attacks it's own organs. In such conditions the body may target both Thyroid and Pancreatitis.

The other possible explanation is during Thyroid storm there can occur an elevation in calcium levels in the blood and a high calcium levels can trigger Pancreatitis.

Again excess of Vitamin D causes increase in the calcium levels which can lead to Pancreatitis.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
