Could The Vomiting And Green Watery Stool Indicate The Symptoms Of Rotavirus Infection?

My 7 months old son passing green and watery stool 4 to 6 times a day. Before he is normal and playing suddenly sunday night he cried frequently and vomoting. Is there symptoms of Rotavirus infection. My Dr. Advise to give z&d suspension and ors. Any other remedies?

Above symptoms indicate gastrointestinal tract infection. Commonest cause is viral infection. It can be rotavirus as well.other causes are bacterial infection, food intolerance. Treatment given to your baby is correct. You can add enterogermina and antiemetic for vomiting. Maintain good hydration. Motion takes 5-7 days to stop. In case of repeated vomiting, frequent watery loose stools and decreased urine output you need to consult pediatrician immediately. Don't give fruit juices or sweetened water or drinks.
