Could The Vaginal Cyst Be The Reason For Missed Period?

My girlfriend has had what she is 99% sure is some sort of vaginal cyst for some time now (I believe a few months). About 3 weeks ago, we had unprotected sex. She was supposed to get her period a little over a week ago (although she is often irregular, this amount of irregularity is not common) and are somewhat worried about pregnancy. We know for certain I did not ejaculate inside of her. However, as I have read, precum could have played a factor. I urinated before sex so that should ve cleared my system of live sperm from previous ejaculation. We have read that vaginal cysts can sometimes cause missed or late periods along with the ability to mimic some syptoms of pregnancy. She is having some pains in her lower abs and groin and a few cramp-like pains although she can t tell for sure. We have yet to take a pregancy test but do you you think the vaginal cyst could be the reason for her missed period?

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Vaginal cyst cannot be the cause for the delayed menstrual period. Moreover, it remains to be seen if she really has a vaginal cyst or if it a polyp of the cervix. If she had a significantly sized vaginal cyst, intercourse would be difficult. Going by your description, you had the intercourse around the ovulation period. Even if ejaculation did not happen, pre-ejaculate is sufficient to cause conception. I would ask you to get a HPT with a fresh early morning sample of urine and plan further management accordingly. Hope this helps.
