Could The Swelling Of Epiglottis Be Due To The Antibiotics Taken For Ear Infection?
Hi, For the past week I ve felt like I had p piece of food or something atuck in the back of my throat. After doing some investigating, i think what I m feeling is my epiglottis. It doesn t hurt and I haven t had trouble breathing but it seems like it might be a little swollen. I dont know if it s related, but this past week I have also been taking antibiotics (sulfamethoxazole) for an ear infection. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of taking Sulfamethoxazle for ear infection and you developed a feeling of something stuck in the throat. I would advise you to go again to ENT and get Pharyngoscopy done to have confirmed diagnosis to know the exact cause and then to go for proper treatment . I may be a cancer or just an edema o fsome tissues including ipiglottis or so. Epiglottic swelling is always painful, hence the need for inspection and correct finding.
