My husband has 3b colon cancer he has went through three operations and six months of 5 flu chemo, we just went in to do colonoscopy and cat scan , they found a spot on hi lung and I have noticed he has a wet cough. We haven,t bEen back to oncologist yet. Just wondering if I should be worried or if it is just a lung irritation?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
Colon cancer is notorious in spread. And lung spread is very common in colon cancer.
So lung spot on CT thorax can be due to cancer spread in lung.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done bronchoscopy and BAL ( Bronchoalveolar lavage) with biopsy if indicated.
If it turns out to be malignant than chemotherapy should be started.
But if it is normal than follow up scan is needed after 6 months to see for any enlargement in the spot.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
