Could The Simplex Virus Be The Reason For Lesion Breakout On Penis?

2 days ago a dental surgeon removed a lump from my tongue, and it was sent for biopsy. Yesterday, my foreskin broke out in weeping lesions (?) and on pulling it back I find the skin has seemed to shrink so that it looks as if my foreskin is "strangling" my penis and the lesions are spreading and are now on the penis head. I have recently undergone several tests at the G.U.M. clinic and the only things found in my blood are Herpes Simplex 1 & 2. Could these simplex viruses be the cause of these sudden outbreaks or could it be something even more serious?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

It would be really hard to comment as to what is the exact nature of the lesions involving the foreskin of your penis without having been able to have a look at it and without going through a detailed history.
The weeping sores can likely be due to either herpes genitalis; all the more likely since your blood test is positive for HSV type 1 & 2 virus. However, the blood test does'nt distinguish between oral herpes and genital herpes; this can be ascertained by history.
Another possibility is that the lesions on the foreskin of your penis is a drug reaction, probably to one of the agents that you may have been told by your dentist.
I would suggest that you visit a specialist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis and appropriate management.
The lesions of Herpes genitalis are fairly characteristic to be missed or misdiagnosed with something else.
Oral antivirals like acyclovir and valacyclovir are specific treatments for herpes
