last week on the 26th of August, I fell asleep in the sun and husband came home and I was non responsive, he carried me into my house and proceeded with pouring ice water all over me, called 911 and i had an internal temp of 106. The EMT;s arrived and as soon as they got IV s in me I remember the trip to the hospital. I was in the sun for about four and half hours. As everything seemed fine and test were done at the hospital, the only thing they told me is I had an EKG test show depressions but it was fine and the Cardiologist sent me home. As soon as I got home I noticed purple looking rash on my upper left thigh, itchy, sore to the touch and looking like round type circles but only on the upper leg no where else in my body, It is now Sunday evening and I still have this rash and did go to the Dr, earlier this week just to have him look at it. He said it was probably caused by getting severe sun burn, but they have lumps underneath the rash that move around. He perscribed some medicine I have yet to take. I will start that tonight since my pharmacy did not have it in stock and I just picked it up, so we will see what happens. I was wearing shorts when I was out in the 90 degree weather for all those hours, the EMT s tore them off me, I guess because of my high fever. The weird thing is it is not notacable anywhere else on my body, but only on the left upper thigh area and stops way above the knee, only the inner part of the leg (thigh) area. Can the rash be from the sun, or severe sunburn? Can it be caused from heat exaustion which was my diagnoses from the hospital? I am not a sun kinda person, I like to visit warm places but rarely sit out in the sun for hours. If my husband did not come home from work when he did I may of died, pretty scarey. Thank God he knew what to do and like I said that is the only thing I do not remember him pulling me in the house putting ice and ice packs on me, but shortly after I woke up and remembered the ambulance ride to the hospital. I realize it is hard to diagnose skin issues, and probably the hardest thing for a physician to diagnose unless they see it, which I told you I went to the Urgent Care walk in clinic, to have it looked at.. but needed to have another opinion. I have never had a rash like this, and it is strange because of the soreness, itchy, lumps on some, and looks red,and warm to the touch. Also on top underwear line it is more red and warm and lumpy size of a nickel or so. Thanks so much Karrie Yeoman Washington State..
